2006-07-16 - Legacy love!
Yes it's true, Bashish now magically displays prompts correctly on non-UTF-8 terminals, however, be sure to bring your own VGA font. Time to give some Bashish to Eterm, aterm and the console.
Console font changing is back in the Linux console, put all your
.psf.gz and .fnt.gz in ~/.font and you may include them in Bashish with
the CFONT variabel.
Additionally there have been some improvements in memory usage.
Bashish is still looking for sponsorship in Debian, and a maintainer for Gentoo.
2006-07-15 - Debian RFS and more colors!
Bashish is now pushed for inclusion in Debian.
The fresh 2.0.5 release comes with two theme updates, "box" and "fade" - of BashPrompt project fame.
A new settings system has been implemented which means that one can
create interactive settings which are displayed when a new theme is
loaded.
A lot of updates are avaliable "under the hood":
- the new theme library (replacing the 1.x needmod system).
- Winchupdate - the prompt updates when the window size changes.
- Functions are now ksh93 style - however this release still remain untested on ksh93.
Hopefully for the next release I've written a howto and updated
documentation so people can explore the wonders of Bashish :)
2006-06-14 - SuSE & Gentoo updates!
Pascal Bleser now includes Bashish in his SuSE Guru repositories: http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/index.php
accessible via apt-rpm, YaST2 and yum. Thanks Pascal!
I've tried to hack together an .ebuild for gentoo, check it out at: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130107
